Last Wednesday, May 22, saw the main street of Nambucca Heads wearing orange from top to bottom thanks to the creative efforts of NVdS participants.
The event is all about showing your support for NSW SES volunteers in whatever way you can.
The efforts did not go unrewarded with $371 raised, all for the local SES.
NVdS Support Coordinator, Cherry Miller, said the participants had been making streamers and banners and more for the last six months.
"The day went really well with people buying from the trade table and businesses making donations - the participants are now looking forward to handing the money to the SES," Cherry said.
The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer-based organisation that works with communities to prepare and respond to severe weather events.
It is the lead agency for flood, storm and tsunami in NSW, managing responses to these emergencies and helping communities prepare through planning and education.
NSW SES volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds. They are united by the purpose of supporting their communities in times of need.
