Part of a Souths Cares and Colgate initiative, Greg was one of a team passing on health education to excited Macksville Public School students.
Principal Anthony Buckley was delighted to host the visit, which dovetailed with the school’s NAIDOC celebrations.
Greg, club leader for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and for the Queensland Origin side, told the Guardian it was always enjoyable to return to the Nambucca Valley.
“It’s good to come back home, though it’s hard to find the time to get back as much as I’d like. But it’s good to give back to the local community and see family,” said Greg, who is currently recovering from a broken thumb.
Watch Greg play a game of tag:
The champion fullback said he was aiming to return for the Bunnies’ round 23 clash against the Brisbane Broncos.
The visit saw students learn about general oral health, while outdoors, they were put through a series of rugby league skills.
While the kids bubbled with energy, there was no one more energised than Greg himself, as he encouraged the youngsters through the exercise stations.
The Colgate-Rabbitohs partnership aims to empower Australians to take charge of their health and hygiene to prepare them for the future.
