In case you were curious, the eight-metre high statue is not for a new film – it is part of the ‘Unlocking Daniel’s Mysteries’ seminars by the Nambucca Seventh-day Adventist church.
The first of the weekly series starts 2pm this Saturday (4th) at the Nambucca Seventh-day Adventist Centre in Willunga Avenue.
The seminars focus on the writings of Daniel, who according to the Seventh-day Adventist church, was born around 620BC and his tomb has been a pilgramage site for milenia in Susa (Iran), one of the world’s oldest cities.
Paul Richardson from the church said, three of the world’s most prominent religions, Jews, Muslims and Christians, all accept that Daniel was a prophet and his legendary life and writings are still seen as significant today.
“Daniel was a man of immense knowledege, ability and wisdom. For over 60 years he was engaged in political leadership of several of the world’s greatest ancient nations,” Mr Richardson said.
“Part of the uniqueness of Daniel’s life was his amazing spiritual insights. These include predictions of the sequential rise and fall of major world empires, even to our time. His time predictions relating to the arrival of Jesus Christ stand as a testimony to his amazing giftedness,” Mr Richardson said.
“There is an opportunity to learn from one of our world’s greatest minds through his own writings and see how his personal beliefs and values contributed to his success.”
Mr Richardson said he hoped the seminars would help those interested to discover, through Daniel’s life, how to think more strategically and become a person of influence.
