A bit more of Newee Creek Rd will soon be sealed, thanks to an arrangement between a private developer and the Nambucca Valley Council, which includes the road works in the conditions of the approved Development Application.
Assistant General Manager, Engineering, Paul Gallagher, said there was however more to the story, as that arrangement would have meant there would have been a section of gravel road between the end of the existing bitumen and the beginning of the developer's property.
"There was a request to council to seal the gap and council agreed to contribute one-third (about $19,000, which is included in the 2020/2021 budget) with the remaining two-thirds paid for by the developer and a property owner that would benefit from the bitumen seal," Mr Gallagher said.
And the result is less dust, less noise - and everyone is happy.
