Veterans of the Nambucca Lions and clubs from up and down the coast dusted the cobwebs off the boots, donned the jerseys and represented the Mid North Coast in spectacular fashion - and with hamstrings still intact.
Some of the old boys and women haven't played a game in years, but once that white line fever hit on the field, they played like they'd never left.
All involved played a tough, fair game that provided the crowd with plenty of laughs and entertainment - a great moment for AFL on the Mid North Coast and the Nambucca Valley.
Great work and a big thanks to all those who came and helped out, hopefully we get to see many more Masters games played here in the future.
Lions vs Blues
The Nambucca Valley Lions are roaring and have shown they are the team to beat in this year's North Coast AFL Reserve grade competition.
The boys put on another stunning display at home on the weekend out-muscling the Northern Beaches Blues 10.9 (69) - 5.0 (30).
It was a hard game from start to finish and the Blues gave it a red hot crack, but struggled to find an answer to the rampaging Lions.
Goal kickers for the Lions were Andrew 'Bull' Welsh, Leif Stuart, Jimmy Angel, Haydn Suridge, Beau Langford and Mick Townsend.
A big congrats and welcome to the club to newcomer Tyrone Kay, playing his first game on the weekend and giving a great performance.
Special mention to young guns Brayden Pianta and Beau Langford - two of the youngest on the field but both putting in a tough and courageous effort.
The Lions are top of the table, undefeated, but the hunt is far from over. They want more; they want it for the club and for the Nambucca Valley.
The combination of a great club culture and the boys' willingness to be there playing with each other week after week is proving to be a recipe for success for the pride.
One more away game next weekend will see the Lions travel to Grafton, followed by three home games in a row to close out the season. So if you want to see the boys do it for Valley, get down to EJ Biffin and cheer them on.
Carn the Lions!
