At about 4pm on Tuesday, a 36-year-old man attended a private property on Menarcobrinni Road to conduct repair work.
About half an hour later, emergency services were called to the scene after reports a tractor had flipped and trapped the man underneath.
The man died at the scene.
Mid North Coast Police District crime manager Kim Fehon said it was "a very tragic incident".
SafeWork NSW were notified and attended the scene.
Investigations are ongoing into the incident and a report will be prepared for the Coronor.
