The outfield was nearly as fast as the wind.
Scotts Head batsmen kept the scoreboard ticking over with as many as five getting a start but no one going on with the job to get a big score.
A couple of drop catches looked like it would cost Pub with no Beer but they just kept plugging away and after 40 overs Scotts Head finished 9/194.
Andrew Welsh 38, Jimi Allan 38, Nicole Lane 20, and young Will Deveroux a solid 9 not out were best with the bat.
Joe Costa 4/52 off 8, Brandon Willer 2/22 off 6, Jya Welsh2/43 off 8 and Darrell Welsh 1/21 off 8 were the wicket takers.
In reply Pub With No beer were 2/19 in the 6th over, but that just brought Joe Costa to the crease.
A couple of good partnerships with Connor Lockyer 23 and Jai Wassens 12, had them 4/109 after 24 overs.
Costa just managed the innings from then on as partners came and went.
He had the calculations in his head and farmed the strike his way. At 9 down with still just over 40 runs required Jake Nicholas stayed with him as Costa found the boundary regularly.
Pub With no Beer passed the total in 37 overs with a wicket in hand.
Costa finished unbeaten on 91 and Nicholas had one of the best 0 not outs I've seen in many years.

Nambucca Heads v Macksville Country Club at Coronation Park
Nambucca Heads won the toss and batted first.
They were bowled out in 35 overs for 147, with Aaron Clarke 67, Greg Watts 24 and Peter Lee 20 the top scorers.
Best bowlers for Country Club were Chris Budden 3/24 off 7, Ossie Kinnear 3/27 off 7 and Ben Goulder 1/21 off 6.
Country Club chased down the total in 38 overs finishing 5/148, Chris Budden 69 Not out, Ossie Kinnear 30 and Damien Frost 19 not out.

It's a great start to the season for Country Club who are yet to taste defeat with two wins and a draw.

The game was played in good spirits and the toss won by Northern District who elected to bat.
