Cr Hoban told the Nambucca Guardian that other issues included the highway handover (still in limbo), service roads handover, maintenance of the old Pacific Highway (still ToNSW responsibility), the lack of response to the Tumney noise report commissioned by Valla residents last year and North Macksville Soccer Fields, which council has been trying to get ownership for years.
Plus there is the very important question of the establishment of the (election) promised $500 million Fixing Country Roads program and the $500 million Fixing Country Bridges Program.
Regarding the rubbish Cr Hoban said ToNSW not only owned the highway and interchange but also the Service Centre site and care of it and the surrounds, including vegetation, was their responsibility.
Assistant General Manager Engineering, Paul Gallagher said ten cubic metres of rubbish was collected in the recent past and back in 2018 one resident collected 11 bags of rubbish in just over an hour.
The Nambucca Guardian can also report numerous phone calls and emails on this same matter over the last 18 months.
