After a few years out of the game for rehabilitation, the athletic superstar from Bowraville Central School has been making a huge comeback.
Last year, in Year 7, he competed in the NSW State Athletics multi event and brought home the gold.
This year he placed fifth in the same event.
It's no surprise then that his innate talent turned enough heads to get him an invite to represent Australia (alongside 40 other Aussie kids) in Canada for the Sports Travel Australia program.
As the classic all-rounder he is, Malcolm is competing in a huge range of events during the three international carnivals including 200m, 400m and 800m track, a 300m sprint, 300m hurdles and discus.
Malcolm left for Canada on June 26, and we've heard word that he's just finished up in Vancouver where he won gold in the triple jump, bronze in the 300m sprint, and placed fifth in discus and sixth in the 200m.
But the real test of his abilities will be in a few days time at a much bigger meet.
Malcolm's parents, Tammy Woods and Allan Noble, said they're "proud as punch" at their son's achievements and are "over the moon" that they could give him this chance to shine internationally.
They said Malcolm just has a "natural talent" and doesn't train or have coaches...it's pretty difficult to do either when you live out bush.
After all the serious business is done, Malcolm will get to blow off some steam at Disneyland and Universal Studios before making his way back home.
