ABOUT 50 children will hit Bellwood Park for a morning of fishing followed by a barbecue lunch on Thursday, April 18 - for an event put on by Nambucca Heads Offshore Fishing Club together with OOSH (Out Of School Hours organisation) and NSW Fisheries.

NSW Fisheries staff from Coffs Harbour will provide volunteers and an educational trailer, while the Offshore Club members will provide expertise on rigging lines, baiting hooks, and explain the benefits of sustainable fishing and size and bag limits.
To add some spice to the morning there will be prizes for longest bream, flathead and whiting caught as well as a fourth species called 'other' to give all a chance at a prize.
The event will run from 9am to 1pm.
