The new service departs from Macksville just after 8.00am, which means families and students have more time in the morning to get organised for the trip which is substantially quicker now that the run is direct.
The previous service was a combined school and public run which meant that the bus had to stop on the old highway for passengers.
The bus arrives back in the Nambucca Valley at approximately 4.15pm, allowing more time for extracurricular activities.
St Patrick’s Principal Vin Butler said the new bus service offered parents from the Nambucca Valley an opportunity for their children to continue their Catholic education at St Paul's College, Kempsey.
"St Patrick's is a feeder school to St Paul's … students from Nambucca Heads now have the option of being collected by the new bus service in three different locations. This service runs directly to Kempsey on the new motorway.”
Beth Costa, who has children at St Patrick’s and St Paul’s says the new bus service was "easier and faster travel for the students".
"The kids are happy and more rested - as a family it’s made life easier for."
Up to 50 students use the service daily.
