After an urgent call to arms last week, Macksville Gift president, Owen Rushton, said a committee could not be formed at the annual general meeting held last night (Monday).

He said a second attempt would be made on Monday, March 4, Macksville Ex-Services Club, 6pm.
“If that fails then the 65-year-old event will go into recess, either till a committee can be formed in the future or if not, then the total disbandment,” Owen said.
The Macksville Gift is an annual one-day carnival of events centred around professional sprint racing.
It is the longest-running professional foot race in NSW, in the league of the well-known Stawell Gift in Victoria.
