About 6.30pm yesterday, a 50-year-old woman was driving her Toyota Starlet south along the Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour.
At the intersection of Beryl St, the Toyota allegedly collided with the rear of a HiAce van that was stationary at a red traffic light.
Both drivers got out of their vehicles and, after exchanging details, the driver of the van contacted police.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and the driver of the Starlet was breath tested which allegedly provided a positive reading.
She was arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where she provided an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.252.
She was charged with high-range drink diving and is due to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday February 4.
Her licence was suspended.
