Optus tower switched on at Valla Beach

Mobile coverage across the Nambucca Valley got a boost today with the announcement by Optus that have switched on a new mobile tower in Valla Beach.

Optus’ Territory General Manager for North West New South Wales, Chris Simon said, “the site will provide dedicated 4G mobile coverage to locals and tourists just in time for the festive season.”

“This financial year, Optus has invested more than $500,000 in its mobile network across the Nambucca Valley, working with local communities to improve mobile coverage in their local area.”

Black spots for mobile coverage are a major issue in rural and regional areas. In June this year the Federal Government announced $25 million for a second round of funding that operators can apply for to address this issue.
