EIGHT Macksville Marlins members have just returned from attending the NSW Achievers meet at Sydney Olympic Park as part of team Swimming North Coast (SNC).

Selection into the SNC squad was based on a swimmer’s performances at the SNC LC Championships which were held in November 2017. The camp isn’t all about competing at the meet, it is an opportunity to bond with the other swimmers in this area branching from Banora Point to Forster.

The swimmers arrived home from the two-day camp tired but pleased with their results, for some it was their first time away on the camp and first time competing at SOPAC.

The SNC team came fifth in the overall pointscore. Macksville Marlins member Matt Faulds also attended the camp as a team manager.

Standout performances from the Marlins were Asha Searle who won gold in the 11 years 50m breaststroke and finished 5th in 50m freestyle, 7th in 50m backstroke, 8th in 50m fly and 6th in the relay.

Darcy Welsh (14 years) won a bronze for his efforts in the mixed 13 and over relay and came 5th in 50m breast, 8th in 50m free, 10th in 50m back and 12th in 50m fly.

Other Marlins results:

Brayden Clark 10yrs fly 25th, back 15th, breast 49th and free 40th. Relay B 15th.

Courtney Clark 11yrs fly 41st, back 29th, breast 45th and free 45th.

Brody Faulds 13yrs fly 27th, back 22nd, breast 27th and free 28th. Relay D 21st.
