A 24-year-old man who allegedly threatened a woman with a machete and iron bar in Nambucca Heads has been arrested in Bowraville.

Police said that after the alleged early morning incident on Monday the man hopped into a vehicle which had been reported stolen from Coffs Harbour.
He then allegedly set fire to the vehicle in Cohalan St, Bowraville, before police chased him on foot.
Bowraville Fire and Rescue was called to extinguish the blaze.
Police said the man became violent and made a number of threats towards officers when he was arrested.
He was charged at Macksville Police Station with several offences and refused bail to appear before Kempsey Local Court on October 22.
In other police news, a 29-year-old man was arrested on the same day in Nambucca Heads after a family dispute in which a 48-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted and property damaged.
The man was charged at Macksville Police Station for breaching an AVO and for other related offences.
He was refused bail and went before a magistrate at Kempsey Local Court yesterday.
