635 knitted poppies were hoped for to represent each of the Valley’s World War I volunteers.
But at this juncture, more than 1000 poppies have already been collected – a truly astounding result!
The Centenary Committee thanks the many wonderful people who have knitted, crocheted and sewed poppies and is looking forward to collecting those that are yet to be delivered to the area’s RSLs.
From October, Carrolline Rhodes will be visiting businesses requesting that poppies be displayed on counters and in windows in remembrance of those who left our Valley to serve.
From Taylors Arm to Scotts Head, from Macksville to Bowraville from Eungai to Nambucca Heads, and points between, you can expect to see poppy displays like the one shown in the photo.
