Work on reconstruction of the worst section, between Bent St and Palmer St, is due to start on Wednesday.
Matthew Leibrandt, Nambucca Council’s Manager Infrastructure Services, said initially work would be off the road and “little to no delays” were expected in the first week.
“As of next Monday, August 20, there will be traffic lights in place with regular delays,” Mr Leibrandt said.
“We expect to spray seal the new works by Friday, September 21 (in five weeks time) and we expect the asphalt works to start after the October long weekend (approx. Tuesday, October 2).
“We will endeavour to keep delays to a minimum.”
He said there could be days when a detour around the work site is put in place – residents and tourists will be kept informed via an electronic message board on Mann St.
