Mayor Rhonda Hoban has expressed her appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the SES volunteers and to all those who helped our community through this flood event.
Council's assistant general manager Engineering Services, Paul Gallagher, advises that many roads and bridges are still inaccessible and it is now becoming evident that gravel and bitumen has been stripped from many roads and numerous trees have fallen.
Residents are requested to take extreme caution when travelling on any rural roads.
People are also urged to refrain from entering or swimming in the Nambucca River and Swimming Creek until the water has cleared as some sewer infrastructure has been flooded.

Menahwile, around 1000 support personnel will arrive in flood impacted areas today to assist in the regional NSW clean up effort, including on the Mid North Coast.
250 Australian Defence Force personnel, 500 Rural Fire Service volunteers and 250 firefighters will hit the ground to be deployed in areas where the floods have had a significant impact.
Local Federal MP Pat Conaghan said that while the clean up has already started, we would not be able to undertake the massive job ahead without this support and expertise.
"I continue to be amazed at the community spirit and unselfish way we've pitched in to help out those in need right across our region," Mr Conaghan said.
"In addition to the wonderful job being done by the SES, having additional boots and machinery on the ground is much appreciated as we work together to rebuild our communities, and get our lives back together."
The 1000 support personnel will start work tomorrow and focus on clearing roads, removing debris, and assisting residents and businesses in their clean-up and restoration efforts.
Those needing flood clean-up assistance are encouraged to contact the SES on 132-500.
For life threatening emergencies call 000.
