Bob Irvine was raised west of Nambucca Heads - somewhere up in the rainforest that existed 80+ years ago beyond Bowraville.

In his time, Bob has seen the rainforest trees cut down for timber, dairy farms, orchards and new housing subdivisions.
Fortunately, Bob grew to love the trees, in the Nambucca State Forest, Bob can spot kangaroos and birds before anyone else.
Despite being 84 years old, on any afternoon you'll find him out with his red dog Rumble.
Bob usually takes the ute rather than walking now, Rumble runs along behind, and he pulls up every time he sees rubbish dumped in the forest and carts it away in the ute.
It bothers him to find illegal rubbish in the Nambucca State Forest, so he takes it to the tip at his own expense.
If Bob can do it .. so can you.
On 'Clean Up Australia Day 2021', Bob couldn't go out with me, but insisted I borrow his ute and take Rumble along to collect rubbish for a special 2021 clean up event.
"Friends of Nambucca State Forest" was created to take away the huge amount of rubbish that is continually dumped in our forest -- instead of being taken to the tip.
I was joined by 3 generations of a local family from Newee Creek, who brought along their own ute as well.
In a couple of hours, we managed to take out 3 ute loads of rubbish out to the waste depot.
Anyone can follow the example of Bob and this local family in their daily life, and as much as I hope you'll volunteer for a 'Clean Up Australia Day' event next year, don't wait that long.
The forest needs you today.
