The theatre has been closed for 12 months due to COVID restrictions so we are keen to get back up and running.
The theatre is operated by the volunteers of the Bowraville Arts Council. There are no paid staff, and many volunteers are needed to enable smooth operation of both cinema and live productions, including admin, cafe, ushers, sound and lighting, stage hands, handypersons, box office ... the list goes on.
Many improvements have been made while the theatre has been closed, including new lights, new backdrop curtains, and a new lighting bar, so come along and have a look.
Membership of the Arts Council is $25 per year. All existing memberships have been extended to 30 June 2021. All new memberships (from January 2021) will extend until 30 June 2022.
Membership makes up a large part of the theatre's finances, so even if you can't volunteer your time, your membership would be greatly appreciated. Members receive a reduction in movie ticket prices, and we hope to hold special members events in the future.
The theatre has three subgroups - Bowraville Theatre Singers, Bowraville Theatre Players, and Nambucca Valley Writers Group. Representatives of these groups can sign you up on the day if you are interested.
The Open Day commences at 2pm on Sunday 14 March, with AGM to follow at 3.30pm.
Come along and help keep this beautiful theatre alive. For more information or a membership form please phone Dale Hawkins, Secretary, 0402 867137, or email the theatre at bowravilletheatre@bigpond.com.au.
