Nambucca Valley Council has teamed up with Australian Red Cross, local SES, RFS, Fire and Rescue NSW to bring four emergency preparedness sessions into our local area.
"Drought, fire and COVID have shown us just how vulnerable our community is to a range of disasters. We want to make sure Nambucca Valley residents have every opportunity to be informed and link directly with our professional Emergency Management services so they can be as prepared as possible for whatever emergency the future may bring," Mayor Rhonda Hoban said.
These four evening events aim to help residents prepare for an emergency, access information and talk with our local Emergency Services.
The session timetable is:
Valla Rural Community Hall - Wednesday 24 February -5.30 pm
Bowraville Grants Hall - Thursday 25 February - 5.30 pm
Nambucca Heads RSL - Tuesday 2 March - 5.30 pm
Macksville Council Chambers - Thursday 4 March - 5.30 pm
Each session will cover:
- What's the plan? - An Introduction to Emergency Management in NSW
- Local programs of the SES, RFS, Fire + Rescue NSW
- Preparing your household and community
- Further resources available
You can speak with council and Emergency Services about how they can work with you to help your community get ready.
