Both girls competed in the Grand Final of their respective age groups at the Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture held at the Quay Centre in Homebush.
Grace was awarded first place in the '6 Year' age group with Ava taking out the '11 Year' division. This is the fourth time that Ava has won the title of state champion.
Proudly, the club was also represented by 12 other Grand Finalists with five girls receiving placings in their age division.
Charlotte Mobbs finished second (runner up to Grace) in 6 Years, Amity Pistola placed sisth - (9 Year), Bronte Pitt placed fifth and received the State Dance Award (13 Year), Zali Kelly came in fourth (15 Year), and Mia Harding finished fifth (16 Year).
Other Grand Finalists were Hannah Newberry, Tayja Steele, Annaliese Holladay, Aleisya McLeod and Karen Grzetic.
The club was ecstatic with these results. Our members worked hard during COVID to ensure they were competition ready in preparation for even the slightest chance that competitions could be held.
Classes were held via Zoom, then as restrictions eased, the girls trained outdoors on a tennis court. Finally we were able to return to our hall. Fortunately, under strict guidelines competitions were able to proceed.
Classes will resume mid February, and we welcome any new members.
