The death toll from two landslides that struck a village in Indonesia's West Java province has risen to 40 after the bodies of eight remaining missing people were unearthed.

The landslides in Sumedang district occurred on January 9 following heavy rainfall.
The second landslide buried rescue workers responding to the earlier incident, including a local police chief and the head of the civil protection agency.
"Thanks to the hard work of all search personnel, we have been able to find all the victims," said Deden Ridwansah, the head of the search and rescue agency in provincial capital Bandung.
Meanwhile, at least 15 people were killed after floods inundated parts of South Kalimantan province on Borneo island, according to the National Disaster Management Agency.
More than 120,000 people were displaced, agency spokesman Raditya Jati said.
Landslides and floods are common in Indonesia during the rainy season.
They have been exacerbated by the massive conversion of forest to residential areas in densely populated Java; while in South Kalimantan, vast swathes of rainforest have been cleared for mining and palm oil plantations.
