Nambucca Valley Council has launched its "Moving Forward" Community Grants Program funded under the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund, committing up to $197,500 for local, community-driven events and projects to aid in the social recovery of the Nambucca Valley community.
"The community in our valley is so active and have so many great ideas and plans that we want to open up as much funding as possible to allow those plans to flourish. This money, and the grants program, has the potential to go a long way for our local communities and make a real difference in our valley's recovery from disaster," Mayor Rhonda Hoban said.
The focus of this program is on events or projects that promote community wellbeing, social recovery and future disaster resilience following the bushfires of 2019.
There are two categories of potential grants available:
1. Micro to Small scale events and projects from $500 to $3,500
2. Medium to Large scale events and projects from $3,501 up to $50,000.
Expressions of Interest for both categories of grant funding open on December 14 and close on February 28.
Any applications received earlier will be assessed earlier, towards the end of January, in order to get eligible projects up and running as soon as possible.
Community groups, sporting clubs, not for profits, chambers of commerce and registered charities are all encouraged to apply.
