Ms Mottley received her award for significant service to the law, to the judiciary and to professional legal bodies.
After her school years at Bowraville Central and Macksville High School, Ms Mottley pursued a career in the law and is currently Deputy Chief Magistrate of the NSW Local Court and an Acting Judge of the NSW Drug Court.
Her AM was announced in the 2020 Australia Day Honours List but her investiture has been delayed because of COVID restrictions.
