Bowraville park gets even better

Earlier this year Guardian News reported on the new jewel in the crown of Bowraville - the recently opened playground which was making the town a destination again.

"It changes the dynamics in the community - it gives us a sense of pride. It's such a wonderful feeling that Bowra has something so beautiful," Jaanymili Baawrunga's Penny Stadhams said.

"And it's changing the way other people see Bowraville - now they come here to check out our park."

It was "five stars" from pretty much everyone we spoke to. The only minor grumble was access to toilets.

After this week, even that little peeve will no longer have air.

It's anticipated that this Friday, the newly refurbished toilet block adjacent to the footy clubhouse will open for use.

Work will start shortly after on renovating the other disused tennis court.

And in another exciting turn of events, Bowraville has been successful in obtaining a $30,865 grant from the State Government's COVID Recovery Infrastructure Investment Stimulus.

That money will be used to build a Nambucca Valley-first climbing wall at the sports precinct.

More details on that project as they become available.
