The workshops are funded by Nambucca Valley Council and will be facilitated by multidisciplinary artist, Nancy Sposato and Creative Arts Therapist, Marg Coutts.
The two of them will guide participants through accessible movement, visual art and creative writing activities, designed to support people who have no arts background as well as those with art experience.
"These are days for the community to enjoy creativity through simple and relaxing arts activities," Nancy said.
"It's almost a year since the bushfires, so this is an opportunity to check in with yourself in an inspiring and calming environment, the workshop will focus on painting and writing rather than speaking.
"Most importantly to finish off the day we will connect with new and old friends over a shared meal .. and there is absolutely no arts experience required and it's free!"
The Black Bird Creative Recovery Project began in February with an initial workshop in South Arm (funded by Regional Arts NSW), which participants said it was very nurturing, connecting them with community and shared experiences.
The workshops are in Taylors Arm on Sunday, October 18 and in Utungun on Sunday, November 1. Bookings are essential - contact Alison Laverty to register and for more information: 02 6568 0243 alison.laverty@nambucca.nsw.gov.au.
