The school is also expanding its K-2 program and has developed a tertiary partnership with students studying at Southern Cross University for Occupational Therapy.
The program already underway will continue to enhance the social and emotional well-being of the school students in lower primary as well as their educational outcomes.
The building work being done across the school is funded under a grant from the Federal Government's Capital Grants Project and was started earlier this year, for setting a staged development in order to minimise disruptions to student timetables.
The project also includes renovating and re-purposing existing spaces and building new rooms.
"The highlight of the works are new metalwork and woodwork facilities, a well-being centre and a larger drama and music performing and learning space, which will all set a new standard for learning spaces in these key areas," principal Jeff Allen said.
In 2020 the third group of HSC students have studied Drama, Society and Culture and Food Technology. These subjects have been added to the HSC educational program which has included Advanced and Standard English, Extension 1 and 2 Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Information Processes and Technology, Modern History, Physics, PDHPE, Music 1, Music 2 and Extension, Industrial Timber Technology, Engineering Studies, Visual Arts, Geography and Community and Family Studies.
Specialist classrooms, new amenities, a state-of-the-art library as well as a recently constructed auditorium have also contributed to the increased capacity of the school.
The school has also attracted a wide range of experienced and qualified staff to serve its students across a wide range of subjects. Safety and security for all students are promoted and seen as key priorities.
Respect and accountability are also highly valued as the school seeks to provide an environment where students can belong and behave.
NVCCS has a strong family environment where home and school work are in close partnership to encourage children to be enthusiastic, confident and resilient learners.
Each child is treated as an individual to be loved, valued and respected as a learner. Every child is encouraged to understand that they matter as individuals, not because of how smart they are or how much they can achieve.
Students are taught to be faithful in whatever they do in their school life. NVCCS also expects excellence in the teaching and learning process.
In Term 4, Week 6, 2020, the fourth Year 11 (current Year 10) year group will start their Preliminary HSC studies.
The school is currently continuing to take enrolments and inquiries can be made through the school on 6568-9311.
