From Wednesday traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, with southbound motorists diverted to the northbound overtaking lane for a distance of about four kilometres from the Nambucca Heads interchange.
This contraflow traffic arrangement will be in place 24 hours a day for one week, weather permitting, while the repairs are carried out between the Nambucca Heads interchange and the Old Coast Road over bridge.
A reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and road users.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks road users for their patience during this time.
