Nambucca Valley Council has teamed up with the Red Cross, local SES and RFS to bring three Emergency Preparedness sessions into our bushfire affected areas.
"We want to ensure our bushfire affected residents are supported leading up to the next fire and storm season. We know it's an anxious time and we want people to be able to speak one on one with our professional services so they can be as ready as possible for the future," Mayor Rhonda Hoban said.
Kicking off at Utungun Hall this Saturday, followed by South Arm Hall Saturday, September 12 and then Taylors Arm Hall on September 26, these three Saturday afternoon events, running from 12 to 3pm, aim to help residents prepare for an emergency, access information and talk with our local SES and RFS services.
The Red Cross will host a workshop, Emergency Preparedness, covering:
- An emergency plan for your household - Emergency RediPlan
- What's the plan? - Intro to Emergency Management in NSW
- Supporting your community during an emergency - Intro to Community Action Teams (CATs)
Representatives from the SES and RFS will be in attendance to speak directly with residents, answer questions and take on feedback and requests for what needs to be done for the upcoming season.
Council and DPI bushfire recovery officers will also be available for any related issues.
A lunch will be provided so please RSVP for catering and COVID purposes. Call Alison Laverty on 6568 0243 or 0418 377 4030.
