Tuesday was a Medley Single Stableford, with the best score of the day by Geoff Brooks (18) winning Division 1 (scratch to 22) with 39 points from Steven McCosker (15) from Terrigal with 38 points.
Also with 38 points was John Buganey (27), winning Division 2 (23 to 45) from Graeme Bassam (35), close behind with 37 points.
Other good scores came from Colin Wormleaton on 38, Paul McElhinney and Peter Dawe with 36, and Greg McCoy, Edward Beaton and Trevor Peck all with 35.
The ball comp went down to 32 on countback.
Wednesday's Ladies Stableford had 48 players in near perfect conditions with resultant brilliant scores.
Narelle Delaney from B Grade was overall winner with 40 stableford points.
A Grade winner was Sue Brooks 38, and runner up was Darcy Habgood on 37.
Judith Boyle was B Grade runner up with 37.
C Grade was won by Faye Hopkins with 39 points on a countback from Dianne Hopkins.
Ball run went to 33 points and all players had an enjoyable COVID-safe day.
The winds arrived on Thursday for another Medley Single Stableford.
Andrew Johnston (20) scored 37 points to win Division 1 (scratch to 20) from Robert Coneybeare (15) with 36 points.
In Division 2 (21 to 45) Walter Bortoletto (25) and Malcolm McGoldrick both top scored with 40 points each, Walter winning on the countback.
Other good scores were seen from Gary Thurlow 39, Paddy Byrne 38, Colin Edmonds, and Paul Habgood, Andrew Donovan and Peter Miller all with 36 points.
Ball rundown went to 33 points on countback, Robbo the last to collect.
The weekend saw the running of the annual "Island Classic" with the two-day Individual Stableford event sponsored by MidCoast Trucks and the daily events by Deidre Byrne and BCIB Insurance Brokers - thankyou!
While most of us struggled with the blustery conditions and pacey greens, some very good scores were returned.
In the Men's Saturday event, Bruce Berry (5) had a great day out, not only winning Division 1 (scratch to 14) with 37 points, but also taking the Pro Pin Jackpot of $135 on the (par 3) 18th hole, managing to get to 305cm from the pin - quite a feat, given the westerly headwind that caused most of us to fail miserably. Runner up was Mark McLaren (13) with 35 points.
John Morgan (16) had 37 points to win Division 2 (15 to 21) from John Nebauer (17) with 35 points.
In Division 3 (22 to 36), John Buganey (26) scored 41 points to win from Peter Dawe (25) with 37 points.
Ball comp ran down to 33 on countback.
In the Ladies event, Patronella McIlwain (18) won Division 1 (scratch to 25) with 36 points from Rhonda Rowe (25) with 33 points.
Heather Gray (31) took out Division 2 (26 to 45) with 34 points from Deb Russell (43) from Crescent Head with 30 points.
Ball comp rundown went to 31 points.
The wind and cold westerly blast didn't let up for Sunday either.
In the Men's event, Peter Richardson (13) from Armidale (who didn't notice the cold!) and Stephen Truelove (10) both scored 35 points in Division 1 (scratch to 14), with Peter winning on the countback.
In Division 2 (15 to 21), Christian Knight (15) scored 37 points to win from Kevin Mulhall (19) with 35 points. Ralph Taylor (30) had 35 points to win Division 3 (22 to 36) from Kevin Anderson (28) with 33 points.
Ball comp ran down to 31 points.
In the Ladies event, Margaret Bateman (25) from Port Macquarie scored 37 points to win Division 1 (scratch to 25) from Norma Andrews (21) on 29 points.
In Division 2 (26 to 45) Mary Rees (31) scored 38 points to win from Judy Boyle (26) with 30 points. Ball comp ran down to 30 points.
Luke Smith from MidCoast Trucks was on hand to present the major trophies to the winners.
In the Men's Competition, the Division 1 (scratch to 14) winner was Brad Graham (12) from Frederickton with 72 points, with Ian Vidler (14) close behind with 71 points and Harry McMillan (-2) from Coffs Harbour with 70 points.
The Division 2 (15 to 21) winner was Urpo Ylinen (18) with 68 points from Lawrence Comerford (18) from Patterson River with 67 points and Trevor Hopkins (20) with 66 points.
In Division 3 (22 to 36), Leslie Mohr (25) scored 74 points to win from Colin Easey (25) with 73 points and Chris Tinson (24) with 63 points.
Overall scratch winner was Harry McMIllan (Coffs Harbour) with 140 - well done Harry!
In the Ladies Competition, Donna Easey (25) was the winner of Division 1 (scratch to 25) with 73 points from Henny Oldenhove (18) with 72 points and Kerrie Eichorn (16) with 66 points.
Division 2 (26 to 45) winner was Kay McGoldrick (28) with 70 points from Debra France (29) from Coffs Harbour with 57 points on count back from Maria Swain (28) from Coffs Harbour.
The overall scratch winner was Henny Oldenhove with 177.
