It was a case of Jekyll and Hyde this week for the Under 18s Sea Eagles. Where this team was so good last week against Old Bar, not so against Wauchope this week.

Although the score line finished with Macksville as the victors (10-0), it was a lacklustre performance. The game was riddled with mistakes, poor discipline, lack of cohesion in attack and poor decision- making with the ball.
But one positive out of the game was the courageous defence showed by all under extreme pressure.
The game started with an error on the third tackle, which put Wauchope on the attack early on. Great goal line defence from our forwards - Travis Downton, Riley Milreay and the diminutive Finn Stephens - stopped Wauchope from crossing early.
The game then became a mistake-a-thon with both sides struggling to mount any attack. In this period Macksville lost two players to the sin-bin for high tackles.
Macksville had to dig deep to repel Wauchope and they did this - with both teams scoreless at half-time.
After half time Macksville finally completed a set of six, Rhiley Maxwell throwing a beautiful cut out pass to the fleet-footed Oshay Tyerman who scored wide out.
A brilliant 85-metre try by Logan Jones right on full-time excited the crowd. Macksville got the win, but the chat in the shed afterwards was of the need to work hard during the week to return to their best.
