The Ladies have concluded their Championships and the greens have been rolling really well, fast and true - some of us are having trouble picking the line and pace - probably reflected in lower than usual scores.
Monday 3rd August saw the Ladies Championships completed. Darcy Habgood is the 2020 Champion with a gross score of 222, Glenys Thompson was runner up with 261 and Denise Paluch is the nett winner with 214.
Narelle Delaney is "B" Grade champion with 304 with Gillian Anderson a close second with 305, Dorothy Bunyan won nett on a count back from Judith Boyle with 228.
The inaugural "C" Grade Stableford Champion is Kerry Shearer with 101 points, runners up are Morann Paterson 99 and Faye Hopkins 93.

A Grade - Sue Brooks 74 nett on a count back from Glenys Thompson
B Grade - Leanne Welsh 70 nett and runner up Narelle Delaney 71 nett

Ball run went to 77 nett and 27 Stableford points.
Tuesday 4th August was a Medley Single Stableford and we had a record field of 103 for a Tuesday, thanks to the numerous visitors and our new friends from Breakers, Terrigal.
In Division 1 (scratch to 19), Steve McNeil (12) from Dorrigo scored 38 points to win from Rod Grace (16) from Forster. Tony Waugh (24) scored 36 points to win Division 2 (20 to 27) from Colin Easey (26) with 35 points. A close tussle in Division 3 (28 to 45) with Christopher Eaton (34) from Breakers and Jan Moss (36) from Kiama both scoring 39 points, Christopher winning on the countback.

A 4BBB Aggregate on Wednesday 5th August had a field of 50 ladies enjoying magnificent conditions which was obvious from the scores. Sue Brooks and Henny Oldenhove set the bar high with an unbeatable 73 points. Runners up Narelle Delaney and Betty Stockham had 71 with Bryony Brownlie and Gwen Maxwell 69. Ball run went to 62 points.
Thursday 6th August was a Medley Single Stableford with 108 golfers playing in 3 Divisions. Paul Habgood (1) scored 35 points to win Division 1 (scratch to 19) from Joe Street (18) with 33 points. On Friday 7th August, we played another round of the "Island Challenge", a stroke event sponsored by Kempsey Haval. Players were lucky to beat the predicted rain, with everyone finishing relatively dry. Bruce Berry (5) won the day with net 70, Geoff Brooks (19) runner up with net 71. Ladies winner was Judy Boyle (26) with net 75. Scratch winner was Michael Shirlow (9) with 76.
The sleeves of golf balls went unclaimed as no players managed to play to their handicap - yes, it is the Island Challenge!
There was another Medley Single Stableford on Saturday 8th August, with just short of 100 playing in 3 Divisions, with lower than usual scores - perhaps it's those challenging pin placements again!
Afternoon players were lucky to dodge the thunderstorm which just missed the course around 2pm. In Division 1 (scratch to 16) Colin Wormleaton (9) and Steve Frost (15) battled it out, both scoring 35 points, with "Wormo" winning the countback. Another tie in Division 2 (17 to 24) with Barrie Nicholson (23) and Matthew Morrill (19) both scoring 37 points, Barrie winning the count back.
