Pete is an amateur photographer who was up at Wakki Point, Scotts Head, last Tuesday snapping the surfers being towed out to take advantage of the big wave action.
He turned towards South West Rocks and fired off a few rounds before heading back home.
It was his brother-in-law, Martin, who noticed the beauty in this pic as the two were going over the 'contact sheet' at the weekend, and decided to share it with us - much to Pete's amusement.
The forecast low pressure system from early last week produced high winds, and damaging surf with significant wave height.
Quite a few popular beaches around the Nambucca Valley copped a bruising over the past week with the effects of erosion clearly visible.
Meanwhile, with the reflexes of a cat, Anna Walshe snapped this pic at the perfect moment last Thursday down at the V-Wall.
"An early morning walk to check out the surf turned into a swamping. The waves won!" she said.
