Claims have been circulating that a Victorian family holidaying at the V-Wall have brought COVID-19 with them to the Nambucca Valley.
And a mild panic has erupted in our quiet neck of the woods.
After speaking with a spokesperson for the Mid North Coast Local Health District, we can confirm that the rumours are not correct.
"There are no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Mid North Coast, and there haven't been for 80 days," the spokesperson said.
"NSW Health updates the number of confirmed cases daily."
While we understand that fear is a powerful driver, we'd like to advise the community that it is important in times like these to avoid panics by relying on trusted sources of information, like your Guardian News.
