Owner of the Macksville Pharmacy, Patrick Ward, told the Guardian the brakes had apparently failed in the compact passenger vehicle, which mounted the curb and careered into the glass entry doors
Patrick said neither the driver nor pharmacy staff had been injured.
"The driver was a little shaken," he said.
Police were in attendance and part of the old highway was temporarily closed while the vehicle was recovered for towing.
The incident attracted plenty of attention with people just finishing work craning from the footpaths to see what had happened.
Patrick said he was hopeful that he wouldn't have too late a night as repairs are made to the business and it is secured.
