The first job fully finished is the school's library, a place where thousands of students have enjoyed the value of reading over many years ... or simply a sanctuary in the school away from the fun and noise in the playground.
With new desk areas, lower bookcases and funky comfortable furniture featuring great new colours and shapes, its popular with staff and students alike.
There is an oval circulation desk, coloured ottomans and heaps of light coming in. While the atmosphere is one of learning and progress, there are still many quiet little places to find in which to read a book.
While the school couldn't do a big public opening because of the pandemic, the community is invited to visit the Macksville Public School website (https://macksville-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/) to check out photos of the library.
Plans are in the works for even more changes to come.
The gardens are looking beautiful, there is bright new external painting of some buildings and re-purposing of other buildings going on so keep an eye on Macksville Public School as you drive through town.
