"The Khanacross event is true grass sports racing where competitors compete against the clock on a track that changes every time you run," Vice President Benn Farrawell said.
"It is similar to a barrel race on a big open paddock."
With the rain earlier in the week, dust was not a problem for the event with speeds low and control the key.
A field of 32 keen drivers took to the track and tackled the challenging conditions, but it was the ever impressive Paul Mountford who took out the days event.
He was in a borrowed car and a different class than usual, however, he was still able to wrap up the day ahead of Brett Sutherland and Ben Richards by 14 seconds.
1st Junior on the day was Cameron Barnes who succeed in a pedal to the metal close run event with his control ultimately allowing him to edge out his eight other rivals.
A highlight of the day was newcomer Felicity Kesby's outstanding effort to be the fastest lady, second junior and 16th outright to edge out a field of old hands that couldn't keep control in the mud.
