Amazing talent on stage for Harmony Time Concert at Nambucca Community and Arts Centre

Amazing talent was on stage on Sunday, March 15 in the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre.

Over 30 performers entertained us with a moving and inspiring programme full of atmosphere and joy.

The event was part of Harmony Week events to celebrate multiculturalism in Australia and was held to raise funds to support asylum seeker families and their children in NSW.

The concert opened with a dramatic interpretation of John Lennon's song 'Imagine' with Heather Rose at the piano accompanied by digeridoo player, Robbo, and Anna Joy speaking the words in Gumbaynggirr language. Heather then followed this up with a selection of classical and modern works.

Eleventh Hour Choir then took to the stage with their beautiful harmonies and rich vocal tones.

Tutors and students of Coffs Harbour Conservatorium completed the programme.

We welcomed on stage the Musical and Artistic Director Patrick Brearley and a group of his very talented musicians with viola, violin, cello and clarinet.

It was a heart -warming concert with great appreciation from all present and a fitting way to celebrate Harmony Week.

The event raised $2,000, which will be donated to the Asylum Seeker Centre to fund basic needs such as clothing, food, medicines and legal assistance for families living in difficult circumstances.

Thanks go to all our willing helpers and to the NCAC Halls Committee for making such wonderful facilities available for all to enjoy.
