Previously: Police are investigating a string of break-ins at local businesses and at a home in Nambucca Heads over the past week.
"A number of reports have been made to police, but we've had some success through fingerprinting and other means," Sergeant Anthony Smith told the Guardian.
Last Thursday, February 27, there was an alleged attempted break-in at Pizza This Pizza That on Bowra St.
Police were alerted around 10.30pm and they will allege that four youths - two from Macksville and two living in Nambucca - were disturbed in the act and fled the scene.
They were apprehended by police and detained after an alleged fingerprint match, before being released on bail by a local court.
That investigation continues.
Then on Sunday night the Wharf Street Cafe along Wellington Dr was broken into.
A window panel was smashed in order to gain entry, but it is believed that nothing was taken.
Police have said there was a foot pursuit later that night, but it was unsuccessful.
Yesterday morning Nambucca Heads Country Women's Association members were dismayed to discover their Ridge St hall had been broken into and ransacked during the past week.
A number of items were stolen including a Brother sewing machine and overlocker valued at $800 each, some donations the ladies had been collecting over three months for a local charity, various gifts, and some biscuits.
Police have said entry was gained by forcing a lock on the front door.
Finally, a home on Seaview St was broken into just before sunrise this morning.
A computer and wallet with cash and personal items were taken in a small travel bag.
Fingerprinting assessments have been carried out for all locations.
"We are appealing to the public for any information they may have to make our community safer. Any information received will be dealt with under the strictest of confidence," Sgt Smith said.
