Torrential rain poured across the valley over the weekend in a deluge that yielded rain gauge totals of 344mm at Bowra Sugarloaf to 266mm at Taylors Arm and 234mm at Bellwood.
It was just what many had been praying for to quell fire fears, but perhaps a little more than was bargained for with some major washouts in areas recently razed by fire.
Rainfall totals have eased in the last 24 hours with Nambucca Heads recording 35mm to 9am today( Tuesday), South Arm 27mm, Taylors Arm 21mm and Bowraville 13mm.
It is not however the end of this rain event with showers predicted for the rest of the week along with temperatures in the high 20s, which means we will all be feeling that humidity.
So make sure you have your brollie and your wellies with you at all times - and enjoy splashing in those puddles with your kids!
