Dorrigo's United Petroleum Service Station Manager Asim Khan said the company had not given them an estimated completion date.
"They are demolishing and rebuilding, putting in a brand-new service station," he said. "They haven't told us any particular date for reopening yet.
"But I understand it will probably be four or five months. It will take time."
The service station is located on the Waterfall Way on the western edge of Dorrigo.
The Dorrigo Chamber of Commerce website suggests that travellers fill up with fuel at the service centres on the highway and top up at the general store bowsers listed below, which will be coping with increased demands.
