But there was no need for DIY power tools on the banks of the Nambucca this afternoon as a beautiful breeze framed the on point looks of the Year 10 Class of 2019 for their pre-formal photos.
Mind, there were plenty of helpers on tap - parents, aunties, uncles, and siblings all keen to share this special coming of age moment.
SLRs and camera phones were popping everywhere, while students either posed for 'that shot' on Instagram or near blushed about all the fuss.
The young women and men will this evening enjoy dinner with their families as part of the formal festivities.
