Nambucca Shire's elected representatives gave their unanimous support to a Mayoral Minute at their meeting on Thursday to make $100,000 available to provide direct financial support to bush fire affected residents.

A Committee comprising the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, General Manager and two representatives from Red Cross will now be established to develop criteria for the dispersal of the funding, hopefully before this Christmas.
At the meeting the mayor, Cr Rhonda Hoban, said the Kian Road bush fire was the biggest natural disaster in the history of our community.
"And I believe it is time for the Council to support its community with whatever unallocated funds it has," Cr Hoban said.

Recovery Information Centre
The Recovery Information Centre at the Macksville Senior Citizens Centre will remain open for a further two weeks until December 13 to assist with the many issues surrounding the welfare of the community.
Public bushfire recovery meeting
There will be a public bush fire recovery meeting at the Bowraville Theatre tomorrow, December 3 at 7pm.
Free potable water
Council will continue to make free potable water available to rural properties. The water can be accessed from a stand pipe with 400mm hose in front of Council's Works Depot in Gumma Road, Macksville.
Shire road inspections daily
All local roads are currently open, but residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel through areas that have been impacted by fires. Council staff are inspecting the roads twice a day in the morning and the evening to ensure that roads remain clear of debris.
Waste removal
In relation to the identification and removal of asbestos please ring the NSW Public Works on 1800 88 55 39. Council and EPA fees at the waste depot will be waived for fire damage waste.
