A big crowd is in the offing at the racecourse - and a number of Nambucca Valley businesses are using the day as a place to celebrate their office Christmas party.
Despite the long dry, the track is in A1 condition, on the back of some recent irrigation works.
The Cup will be the highlight of a well supported five-race program.
And it could be just the respite for the local community who have been hit from pillar to post by the devastating Kian Rd bushfire.
This will be the third running of The Macksville Cup, and the organisers, the Nambucca River Jockey Club, are confident of a great day out.
This year's event is destined to be bigger and better as many groups have already booked the hospitality area for functions.
The usual food and beverage outlets will operate on the day and patrons will be able to have a flutter with the bookies or the TAB outlet on course.
