Shelayna is one of the featured dancers, a huge role and one which she relishes.
"The atmosphere has been indescribable - the people I have been working with are absolutely the ones you want in your corner forever," Shelayna said.
"They are so knowledgeable and so creative. I have had a few health issues but they have been unfailingly positive and supportive, sending me videos and making sure I have all the tools I need to be ready for this incredible show.
"I am so excited - being on stage is where I feel happy, it's where I really feel I can be myself. Dancing is who I am and this has given me the opportunity to work with others who feel the same way."
Brother Delaney says its great to watch his sister out there on stage.
"I am in the choir, along with 12 other students from Bowraville Central - from where we are you have the best view, you never get bored - it really is an incredible show," Delaney said.
Incredible indeed, Shelayna and Delaney will join 5500 other young stars from all over the state for four performances this Friday and Saturday at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena.
The Schools Spectacular theme this year is STARS.
Now in its 36th year, it has been ranked by Guinness World Records ™ as the world's Largest Amateur Variety Act.
It will star 40 featured performers, an incredible 100-piece symphony orchestra, stage band, 2,700-voice choir, 2,300 amazing dancers, the D'Arts Ensemble disability program, the Aboriginal Dance Company, puppets and an indispensable behind-the-scenes team.
