But all of that is about to change.
A southerly change is moving across the fireground. This will push the fire in a more northerly direction towards the areas of Bowraville and Buckra Bendinni.
South Arm Road is closed to the west, from the Williams Hill Road intersection, and we have reports from the public that Taylors Arm Rd at Jellico St, Kings Point, is also closed.
With 15 fires now at Emergency Level around NSW the RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons has acknowledged the situation to be unprecedented in the state.
"It's a very dynamic, it's a very volatile and it's a very dangerous set of circumstances that we're experiencing," he said.
Fire Control Centre said they have been receiving reports from our area that properties have been lost, but have said it may be a while yet before they can confirm whether that information is accurate.
Advice
If you are in the area of Bowraville or Buckra Bendinni, watch out for embers. If the fire impacts on your property, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
