Earlier in the year Josh's Agriculture Teacher, Lori Wilson, nominated him for the Keep Australia Beautiful Young Legends Environment Award noting that Josh was a student who demonstrated leadership, commitment and resilience.
Josh has taken a keen interest in agriculture as a subject, as well as joining the school cattle team where he has competed in parading both beef and dairy cattle with success.
Josh was born with Cerebral Palsy but has never let this get in the way of doing what he loves. He has never once complained about a task being difficult and he has embraced every opportunity given to him.
This year alone Josh has been awarded the Judges Choice for Encouragement at every Agricultural show he has entered. The manner and handling that he displays with animals can only be described as exceptional.
Josh's family joined him at the award ceremony at Cessnock last weekend. A crowd of over 100 people were in attendance when Josh was awarded the Young Legend's Environment Award.
Josh's family could not have been more proud of him when he got up to give his thank you speech in front of the large crowd.
Josh thanked his family for the support as well as the school for supporting agriculture and having an after school program where he gets to work with cattle.
Josh was asked where he see's himself in the future and he quickly responded "doing something in agriculture". Ms Wilson strongly believes that with Josh's drive and get up and go attitude he will definitely be doing something in Agriculture and he will be doing it well.
Thankyou to Robynne McGinley for writing the nomination and supporting Josh at the awards ceremony and to the Bowraville Lions Club for helping Josh attend the awards ceremony.
