Nambucca Vocational College is hosting a Community Open Day at its Macksville Campus on Saturday, November 16 from 9am-12pm and invites the local community to attend.
Tour the modern facilities, learn about the range of available courses on offer and see how the College is working with the community to develop workplace experience and create employment opportunities.
Along with a delicious morning tea prepared with help from the College's hospitality students, the Open Day is offering free, mini learning sessions on CPR, snake bites, allergies and anaphylaxis and safe food handling.
As part of Australian Food Safety Week, you can also learn about 'Excellent eggs - How to handle them safely'.
One lucky person will also have the opportunity to win a free training course on the day, to the value of $200.
The College offers a range of courses in Hospitality, Aged Care, First Aid, and many more, with a strong focus on practical skills for work placement and local employment.
The programs are competency based so that students gain knowledge and skills and develop workplace experience to increase their employment potential.
Manager Celeste Howden said the college was "a bit of a hidden gem in the community".
"We encourage you to come along to our open day to find out more about the role we play in developing quality skills for carers in all settings ... aged care, disability and hospitality."
Nambucca Vocational College was set up by NVC Group, a long standing community-owned service provider, to ensure great employment opportunities and high quality skills for the local community.
Nambucca Vocational College is at 29-31 Cooper St Macksville, phone 6568 2100.
